Thank you for your interest in instructing here. A word about our facility….

Rogue Gallery is a Non-Profit arts organization that has been serving the Rogue Valley since 1960. Because we are a non-profit, we have scholarship opportunities which afford for anyone interested to take our classes, as long as they are willing to put something toward the class.

We have a large, well-equipped classroom, with lots of supplies, adjustable- height tables, 2 etching presses, easels, paint aprons, and more. We have an art supply store 3 blocks away, which offers our students a discount on their supplies. Located in downtown Medford, we are surrounded by cafes, eateries, and cultural attractions. We also have a gallery garden space adjacent to our building, which is open for our students and instructors to utilize as a place to eat lunch, take breaks, and work outdoors.

How classes work here:

Our instructors typically are paid $25 an hour with a ˝ hour before and after their classes added on for setup and cleanup. Or, a percentage of class fees can be negotiated instead. We want to offer a variety of workshops and classes, and therefore are flexible on our payment schedule. A more popular class is a more profitable one, as is a rare class, which will fill quickly. If a wait list forms, we may ask if you would be interested in an additional session , or in an intermediate to advanced follow up class if there is interest from your students, and you feel confident to teach a more advanced class.

We have four sessions- Fall : September – December, Winter: January – March, and Spring: April – June, Summer: July & August- in the month leading up to these sessions, I accept class proposals for that upcoming session.

We have summer art camps (4 days long) from 9 to Noon, for children during Summer session. Artist’s interested in teaching a kid’s class must pass a background check, and need to turn their proposals in by May 15th.

After all the proposals are collected (6 weeks prior to the start of the next session), Rogue Gallery prints and distributes a class catalogue for the upcoming session.

2 to 3 weeks prior to each class, we distribute flyers locally, and mail out postcard flyers to participants of past classes in similar mediums.

Classes not meeting the minimum (typically 4 students) enrollment are cancelled 1 week prior to starting date – or earlier, if you are not a local resident.

Thanks for your interest. I look forward to working with you.
