Life Drawing Open Studio

Join other artists for two hours of uninstructed figure drawing from a live model. Warm up with short poses then stretch your creative muscles with a series of longer 20 minute poses. Students should bring their own materials, although some drawing boards, easels, and other non-consumable materials are available: first come, first serve.

Beginning Drawing with Brooke Nuckles Gentekos

You can draw! Learn tips, techniques, and tricks to help you draw from life and your imagination in a fun and relaxed five week class. Practice with line drawings, shading techniques, learn perspective and change the way you see your world and yourself as an artist that CAN draw!

Intermediate/ Advanced Watercolor: Water and Sky Workshop with Lane Hall

Friday & Saturday • March 23 & 24 •  1 - 5 PM  

This two day workshop will focus on techniques for painting water and skies in watercolor. Participants will be guided in unveiling the mystery behind realistically rendering sea, and skies. Some experience required.

Visual Storytelling through Cartoon and Comics with Ted Helard
Saturdays  •  April 7, 14, 21, 28  •  10 - 11:30 AM                                                                       

Discover the craft of creating sequential art (i.e. comics and cartoons) as you learn the basic concepts of graphic storytelling. Participants will learn page layout, panel design, and visual composition in the development of effective pictorial storytelling. Some drawing and/ or writing experience will be helpful.

Pinhole Photography Weekend Workshop with Mary Wilkins-Kelly
Friday 6-8 PM, Saturday 12-4 PM, Sunday 12-4 PM•  April  27-29                                          

Explore fine art photography by stepping back to the fundamental concept of recording light and shadow. Participants will construct pinhole cameras, and using light sensitive paper and darkroom procedures, will create amazing and experimental black and white photographs.

Consumable Art: Painting with Edible (and Drinkable) Mixed-Media with Anna Elkins
Saturday •  May 5 12 - 2 PM                                                                  

Extend the pleasure of your daily “cuppa” by turning it into a work of art! Participants will paint with organic and edible materials including tea, coffee, wine & vegetable juices, playing with washes and effects created by the very things we usually consume. “Paints” will be provided, although you are welcome to bring a favorite coffee or tea to experiment and turn into a work of art.

Marketing Your Art For Success: Right Message, Right Audience, Right Tools with Nikolas Allen

This interactive workshop is jam-packed with valuable information that will take you from A-to-Z with your art marketing strategy. Learn how to promote and connect yourself as a professional artist with online social networking and the World Wide Web. Beginning Working with Images and Photoshop for Artists with Hannah West
Saturday • March 17 • 10:30 AM - 12 PM

As an artist, images of your work seen online and submitted for exhibition opportunities must look professional and do justice to your art! Learn a foundation of basic skills in photo correction with Adobe Photoshop and learn to adjust digital images to meet submission guidelines and to address clarity, cropping, resolution, re-sizing, lighting and more! Bring 5-10 digital images and (optional) laptop.
