At the Rogue Gallery & Art Center, we provide quality art education to inspire and build life-long interest in the arts. Our exceptional art instructors encourage exploration and creativity. We offer classes in painting, drawing, ceramics, sculpture, cartooning and more!

Family Art Day

Saturdays: June 10, July 8, August 12 and September 9, Noon-2pm

The Rogue Gallery & Art Center is a great family destination with free and fun art projects in the Rogue Studio and art hunts in the gallery. Every second Saturday of the month families are encouraged to come create, explore and enjoy discovering art together. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

All ages welcome. Free! All Materials Provided, No pre-registration required.

 


Tie Dye Camp with Jenny Calaba
Tuesday-Friday, June 27-30 from 1-4pm
For ages 7-11
Artists will dive into vibrant colors and learn many fun designs and techniques producing bright and colorful tie dye creations.
Jenny Calaba works in sculpture, installation, and textile arts. She has taught and exhibited in Southern California and at the Rogue Gallery & Art Center.

Space, Time and the Universe Painting Camp with Pravina McClure
Tuesday-Friday, July 11-14 from 9am-12pm
For ages 7-11
Students will use their imaginations to travel to old and new worlds to create strange new life forms including animals, plants, humans and aliens. They will build their own spaceship using a variety of materials. This camp will be based on using traditional drawing techniques with demonstrations, practice, and still life supports.
Pravina McClure has taught at Sacred Heart Catholic School, Southern Oregon University’s youth program and the Rogue Gallery & Art Center. She teaches classical art techniques in a fun, creative way.

Manga Camp with Craig Honeycutt
Tuesday-Friday, July 11-14 from 1-4pm
For ages 11-14
Young illustrators will bring manga characters to life with helpful tips and tricks in creating anatomy, postures, hands, and hair. They will use their favorite characters and other popular images for inspiration.
Craig Honeycutt has a Masters of Art Education from the University of Oregon and has taught art for over four decades. He enjoys working with students of all ages and media.

Castles, Creatures and More! Painting Camp with Pravina McClure
Tuesday-Friday, July 18-21 from 9am-12pm
For ages 7-11
Young artists will illustrate fantastic castles, mysterious creatures and fascinating characters with a variety of media that include acrylic paints, markers, pastels, crayons, and more. They will even build their own creature out of recycled materials and paints.

Crazy Sculptures Camp with Samar Dawisha
Tuesday-Friday, July 18-21 from 1-4pm
For ages 7-11
Your kids will go crazy this summer exploring the wild world of sculpture from clay animal figures, totem poles, and recycled art to larger than life sculptures. They will create with clay, papers, wood, wire, and much more!
Samar Dawisha has taught art in the Rogue Valley for over 20 years. She is a painter, printmaker, and sculptor. She has exhibited her artwork nationwide.

Wild About Printing Camp with Samar Dawisha
Tuesday-Friday, July 25-28 from 9am-12pm
For ages 7-11
In this camp students will jump into printmaking, discovering the variety of materials they can use to create prints. They will produce personal cards, posters, trading cards, and much more.
Samar Dawisha has taught art in the Rogue Valley for over 20 years. She is a painter, printmaker, and sculptor. She has exhibited her artwork nationwide.

Realistic Drawing Camp with Craig Honeycutt
Tuesday-Friday, July 25-28 from 1-4pm
For ages 13-17
Students will learn techniques for drawing faces, animals, and objects using pencils, conté, and charcoal. Demonstrations about proportion, form, light, and shadow will help them create more realistic drawings.
Craig Honeycutt has a Masters of Art Education from the University of Oregon and has taught art for over 4 decades. He enjoys working with students of all ages and media.

Clay Discovery Camp with Shari Craddock
Tuesday-Friday, August 1-4 from 9am-12pm
For ages 7-11
Students will enjoy getting their hands in clay while creating unique cups, vessels, and fantastic sculptures. They will learn several hand building methods and get experience on the potter’s wheel. All pieces will be fired and picked-up after camp.
Shari Craddock has introduced children to the joys of making art for many years. She teaches clay-art throughout the Rogue Valley.

Superheroes and Villains Drawing Camp with Craig Honeycutt
Tuesday-Friday, August 8-11 from 9am-12pm
For ages 7-11
Aspiring comic book artists will create powerful superheroes and villains. They will use their own imagination to invent original characters and learn design tricks for faces, figures, and costumes.

PLEASE REGISTER EARLY!   In order for us to hold a class or workshop, we must meet the predetermined minimum enrollment requirement one week prior to the first class or workshop meeting. If we do not meet the minimum enrollment, the class or workshop will be cancelled due to low enrollment.
