TEENS: The Artist Teen Mentoring Project
The Artist Teen Mentoring Project (ATMP) is an annual program which runs from January to March, and pairs teens interested in art with professional artists to work on a project in that artist’s studio space. An invaluable opportunity, this program enables teens to get a glimpse of the working life of a professional artist. Mentors help teens design and create a project in that artist’s preferred medium. Teens may get the chance to work in a medium they have never before explored, or to hone techniques in a medium they are already familiar with. The program culminates in a show with an opening in our student gallery. The Teen Mentoring Program costs approximately $250 to $300 for tuition, including materials. The Rogue Gallery & Art Center is a non-profit arts organization with scholarship opportunities. Phone us at 541-772-8118, or e-mail Holly at holly@roguegallery.org, for an ATMP application. Additional information on ATMP Artists/teachers wishing to teach classes at the Rogue Gallery & Art Center should print and submit an Education Proposal. If you have additional questions after reading the information for potential instructors, e-mail: Classes & Workshops.

INSTRUCTING FOR THE ROGUE GALLERY & ART CENTER We have a large, well-equipped classroom, with lots of supplies, adjustable- height tables, life drawing stands, etching press, easels, paint aprons, and more. In addition, there is an art supply store three blocks away, which offers our students a discount on their supplies. Located in downtown Medford, we are surrounded by cafes, eateries, and cultural attractions. We also have a gallery garden space adjacent to our building, which is open for our students and instructors to utilize as a place to eat lunch, take breaks, and work outdoors. The Gallery & Art Center holds four sessions: Fall (September-December); Winter (January-March); Spring (April-June); and Summer (July & August). I accept class proposals during the month prior to the next session (see dates below). Due dates for Proposal Forms are as follows: Fall Session– July 15th Winter Session– Oct 25th Spring or Summer Sessions– Feb 20th
For a class proposal form, contact Holly at 541-772-8118, ext. 301 or e-mail her at: holly @roguegallery.org We have Kid’s Summer Art Camps (4 days long) from 9 to Noon, for children during Summer session. Artist’s interested in teaching a kid’s class must pass a background check, and need to turn their proposals in by February 20th. After all the proposals are collected (6 - 8 weeks prior to the start of the next session), I contact the instructors to firm up details, we write and sign a contract, and then the Rogue Gallery & Art Center prints and distributes a class catalogue for the upcoming session. This catalogue is distributed to our entire membership, and to various locations and art hot-spots throughout the Rogue Valley. We will also design a flyer and distribute it to you via email, so you can pass it along to your mailing list as well. Classes not meeting the minimum enrollment (typically 4 to 5 students) are cancelled one week prior to starting date. If you are not a local resident and need a deadline to be set for travel plans, we will agree upon a date and add that to your contract. Questions ? Please contact us at: (541)772-8118 ext 301 holly@ roguegallery.org
