Focused 6 Week Life Study with the Figure and Still-life

Winter Series: Mondays, February 4- March 11, 9:00am-12:00pm

This moderated, uninstructed study session will concentrate on the nude human figure and working with still life. Adults 18 years and older from beginning to advanced levels are welcome. Moderated by David Terry and held at the Rogue Gallery studio, the model poses include short gestures and longer sustained poses. Attendees must provide their own materials. Drawing boards, worktables, and easels are available to use.
Pre-registration required for all classes.

Color with Ilene Gienger-Stanfield


All skill levels welcome
Two Day Workshop, Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2, 9am-4pm

Color does not have to be confusing or avoided. There are properties to color that Ilene will explain and demonstrate, in the oil or pastel medium, with simple and clear fundamental instruction. By understanding and seeing these properties, student artists will be equipped to create and modulate color in their artwork. Student artists will work from still life and photo references.

Introduction to Japanese Woodblock Printmaking with Walt Padgett
4 Sessions, Thursdays, April 4–April 25, 2019, 11 am-3 pm, After class open studio 3-5 pm

Japanese Woodblock Prints have been created for centuries to capture a variety of subject matter. Using influences from cultures of the West and the East, this class will explore various techniques for creating timeless woodblock prints.

Essential Elements in a Strong Painting with Sheri Dinardi
All skill levels welcome
Weekend Workshop, Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27, 9 am–4 pm


In this introductory course Sheri Dinardi will teach you everything you need to know about creating not only an accurate portrait but a work of art. On day one in the morning, students will explore drawing and refining shapes with graphite. After lunch Sheri will share techniques of value and edges to create the illusion of light and form with a pencil. On day two, students will use the learned technique from day one and apply them using oil paint to create an original and skilled work of art.
